Media Incubator -- is a networking site which matches Santa Barbara City College School of Media Arts students with local internship, mentorship, and job opportunities. These opportunities help prepare students for career choices. Media Incubator wants to create mutually beneficial relationships, both for our students and the local business community.
Students can submit work in the following categories: Animation (2&3D), Collaborative Group, Film/TV/Mobile, Film Studies/Screenwriting, Graphic Design, Journalism, Photography, and Web Design. The site also features resources to foster creative development and career opportunities. These include job resources, media blogs, social networks, tutorials, and educational discount sites for hardware and software. The site's community facilitates peer collaboration for both school projects and work.
SBCC Alumni in the industry can also post their work and connect with both employers and students. The site shows high school students looking into SBCC's media program the work created by SBCC students and alumni.
This networking site is an initiative of the South Coast Media Education Center, Santa Barbara City College, Multimedia & Entertainment Initiative Region 6: http://meiregion6.com/ It is designed as a prototype to be offered to seven other colleges in MEI Region 6.
